Now that you know your way around the sheet, we're going to take a look at how to actually customize the General Ledger Template columns so that they match your credit union's structure.
Let's take a closer look at one of the columns. The GL codes listed in this UltraData column match GL codes commonly used in many UltraData DP systems.
We are going to work to customize the GL codes in this column so that they exactly match our credit union's GL codes, for each category in Insight.
Let's take a look at an UltraData GL extract exported from one credit union's Data Processing system. The first column in the extract contains the UltraData GL codes. The second column contains the GL category names.
Tip: You can learn more about how to format your data extract in the "Preparing Your Data Extract" section.
Notice that the GL code for "Allowance for Loan Losses" is 7.400.1.
Now look back at the UltraData column on our GL Mapping sheet.
The numbers match! The Allowance for Loan Loss item is correctly mapped for Insight. Insight will now understand that it should pull the financial data for GL code number 7.400.1 into the Allowance for Loan Loss category on the D sheet.
